Located in the ancient town of Badagry, Lagos, Badagry Black Heritage Museum is housed in the former district officer’s office that was built in the year 1863. Founded in part by the Nigerian Cultural Commission, the museum harbours and preserves artifacts and records from the slave route that was once Badagry.

This monument simply represents a drum in Badagry that is usually beaten by orphans at every festival. In Badagry, it is believed that if a non-orphan beats this drum, he/she would become an orphan.

The First Storey Building in Nigeria is located in Badagry, Lagos State, Nigeria. It attracts over two thousand visitors every year. The foundation of the building was laid in 1842 while the house was completed in 1845. The white one-storey building has its corrugated iron sheet roof overlooking the marina waterfront.
